You’re probably about to say something racist.

We’ve come so far
The U.S. Supreme Court case of Plessy vs. Ferguson in 1896 started the era of “Separate but Equal” the basic idea of which being that to keep everybody happy there would be equal right to schools, voting, etc for all races and to keep racial tensions low these rights would be administered separately. The above is an example of this kind of thinking taken to the extreme of even drinking fountains. This image and ones like it have become icons of the 20th century era of extreme segregation.
